When he was 16, a family friend asked Chuck Wagner why Napa is so special - venturing an answer, he said climate and soils. Over the years, he has led the family in making different types of wine in different regions of California. Through that exploration, an idea took hold that guided creation of this wine: when similar soils and climate exist, similar wines can be produced. These special sites enable creation of Cabernet with the Caymus style.
