Sea Smoke Vineyard was established in 1999 on hillside bluffs in the Santa Rita Hills region of Santa Barbara, where south-facing slopes catch abundant sunshine. The vineyard's shallow clay soils and the cool marine fog - known as 'sea smoke' - that rises from the Santa Ynez River canyon each evening create ideal conditions. This cooling effect allows extended ripening and refined, balanced acidity.
